Staff Stories: Karis Edwards, Content Delivery Manager
Our staff stories are back!
At Netpremacy, the right tools are only half the story; the real magic lies with the people who make them accessible. Whether it’s a critical Google Workspace update or a deep dive into AI, ensuring our community receives accurate, timely, and engaging information is a high-stakes balancing act.
Today, we’re sitting down with our Content Delivery Manager for the CSS Team. Having worn many hats over an eight-year tenure, from telephony sales to office management, Karis brings a wealth of cross-functional expertise to the heart of our communications. In this interview, we explore the vital traits needed to manage our content lifecycle, the power of adaptability in tech, and why Netpremacy’s supportive culture is the perfect environment for professional growth.
What is your role at Netpremacy?
I’m the Content Delivery Manager for our CSS Team, overseeing the end-to-end content production and publication process while maintaining quality standards and ensuring content accuracy and relevance. I support our CSS community by delivering timely, informative content to help them stay up to date on the latest Google features and updates.
What 3 traits do you think are vital for your role?
Attention to detail - The delivered content has to be accurate and correct to be able to go out to a wider audience.
Organisation - Keeping on top of new updates, tracking workload to ensure the flow of content remains consistent, and monitoring and updating existing work as features develop & mature.
Adaptability - Features are continuously evolving; it's important to stay up to date with the changes and make sure you understand how they work to help others.
What are some of the ways you have grown in your role?
I have worn a few different hats in the 8 years of being a member of the Netpremacy team, from starting as a university student in telephony sales, becoming an office manager, dipping my toes into training, and then working my way through to the CSS team. Each role has helped me grow professionally and personally, allowing me to develop strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills. Working in different areas of the business has helped me gain a broad understanding of how different teams work together.
What are the top 3 things you love about the company?
I love who I work with and our company culture, being surrounded by intelligent, approachable people who have become not just colleagues but friends.
I always feel supported personally & professionally. A highlight for me was that throughout my pregnancy and maternity, I always felt reassured, knew what was happening, and was encouraged to do what was right for myself, which in turn created a positive impact and working environment.
Always encouraged to better myself, whether that’s taking on a course or certification, if you want to go ahead and challenge yourself or learn something new, it's celebrated, and there is always a helping hand.
Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
In three years, I hope to see myself still embedded in the Netpremacy team, taking on more of a leadership role and diving deeper into the world of AI, and continuing to support our CSS community even further.
What would be your alternative career path?
In another life, I would be a wildlife photographer & journalist for National Geographic, travelling the world and capturing our world in its natural form.
